For Moldova, the Dniester River is primarily a tourist area with a special kind. The river used to form a focal point of human activities in all times and ages, always being densely populated shores. River has had several names over the years: Tyras, and finally Danatris River. Both sides are in themselves cultural attractions, ethnographic and navigation is a way for the country.
Dniester River rises in Ukraine, near the border with Poland and flows into the Black Sea via the Dniester Liman (apr.40 km length). The river has a length of 1352 km across the country, with total catchment area 72,100 km. Tributaries of the lower right side of the Dniester include Raut, Bic and Bothnia. Dniester is used for freight transport, fisheries, electricity, etc.
River is part of the nine most important rivers in Europe and is one of the most interesting rivers in the region.
