   Tiganesti Monastery is located in the forest of Moldova, near Gipsy village, district Straseni Ikel River, about 40 km from Chşinău. The monasterys history begins in 1725, was founded by the nobleman and Lupu Geuca Cobîlca free peasants from the village, who built a wooden church, dedicated to the Assumption, to hide the Tatar invasions Christians. Abbot of the monastery was first-monk Samuel. He left a ately monks with his signature, stating where is the boundary of the estate, as Tartars seized him and they took the documents and things monastery.    In 1846, the place of the wooden church, which at that time was in ruins, a stone was built in Russian style, Victor hieromonk lain under the abbot, with money collected from Christians. A second church, the winter in Moldavian style, dedicated to St. Nicholas, was built in 1868, with the help of Christians and much of the money donated by a merchant from Chisinau. During the Second World War buried here were hundreds of soldiers who died on the battlefield: Romanian, Russian, Germans.    After the war, Russian authorities have tried several times to close the monastery. The first attempt occurred in 1945 when he was abbot Joachim of Bravicea Burlea, but being received as "properly" troops have left the church open. But in 1959 local authorities have sent the brothers to listen to their homes in 1960, all the monks here have been transferred to the monastery Hirbovat. All the icons and religious books, under the pretext that they are carried Hirbovat were fired at the forest edge. In 1960, all the monks were loaded into trucks and taken to unknown directions. The path disappeared and nuns, the way that united the sanctuary with the monastery of nuns from camp. In the years 1960-1961 is worked here a hospital for people with physical disabilities. Summer Adomiirea Virgin Church was turned into storage for the hospital. Patients were kept in the cells of the monks and the church in winter. This hospital has operated until July 1992.    On September 8, 1992 Gipsy monastery was restored and started reconstruction. In 1998 the works were finished repairs to the church of the Assumption Donmului summer. The church is built in Russian style, with rectangular plan, small. It has two Gothic towers. Side apses are less emphasized. The interior has traditional boundaries. The monastic ensemble is currently made up of two churches, of which the winter is put into a body of cells with the abbess, three bodies of two chambers, and other large objects that are a kitchen and a refectory.
