Hymn of Republin of Moldova
"Limba noastra" is a poem written by Alexei Mateevici (1888-1917), Encompassing four stanzas of 12 lines each. Poetry is praise to Romanian language (without explicit language name to appear) and a call for her appreciation. It was written by Mateevici at the Congress of Writers of Bessarabia, where it was decided to switch to the Latin alphabet and other important reforms.
Since 1994 a part of poetry, reorganized in the form of five stanzas of four lines each, was chosen as the anthem of the Republic of Moldova, a song composed by Alexandru Cristea (1890-1942). Before the establishment of the hymn, the Republic of Moldova for several years had the same hymn state like Romania, the song „Deşteaptă-te, române!”.

Limba noastră-i o comoară
În adîncuri înfundată,
Un şirag de piatră rară
Pe moşie revărsată.
Limba noastră-i foc, ce arde
Într-un neam, ce fără veste
S-a trezit din somn de moarte,
Ca viteazul din poveste.
Limba noastră-i frunză verde,
Zbuciumul din codrii veşnici,
Nistrul lin, ce-n valuri pierde
Ai luceferilor sfeşnici.
Limba noastră-i limbă sfîntă,
Limba vechilor cazanii,
Care-o plîng şi care-o cîntă
Pe la vatra lor ţăranii.
Răsări-va o comoară
În adîncuri înfundată,
Un şirag de piatră rară
Pe moşie revărsată.
