Fortress is a separate page in the history of Moldova. Most castles were built in the medieval Moldavian principality for the defense of enemies. Some were built by ordinary households, they were removed from the simple stone and were too bulky. With hundreds and thousands of years ago our ancestors have built castles in the Dniester, and they are martyrs, sacrifices of our nation, to defend the country and the Christian world. Example can be those that have been preserved fortifications along the history of this land, once cities raised edge of the hill. At a distance of 700-800 years ago in the Dniester region archaeologists reveal a number of cities, which stood guard, patrol and war on the country's borders.

   These large numbers eprezintă: La Santa, Gorodoc, Three Crosses, Pastuh Joseph Knoll, Zamca Baba Black Turk ditch at Santa, his Five other cities dating back to 2000-2800 years old can be found in Ptolemy's map: Vibantavarium Carrodunum, Clepidava, and Eractum Maetonium.
